    NL mi

    5x5 10 team keeper league

    I am in second place. I can move up by picking up a second closer (last in saves), add runs/rbi and improve batting average. I am decent in HRs and SBs as well as whip/wins/Era. My existing staff includes deGrom, Ian Anderson, Bumgartner, Wainright, Neris, Bednar and a soon to return Eliser Hernandez. Offense I have Alonso, Bohm, Ketel Marte, Harper, Brian Anderson, Tapia, Hampson, Jeff McNeil, William Contreras and Brandon Crawford. I also have Hiura on reserve.

    I would move to a dumper: Grisham 5B, Taijuan Walker 9A, Gregorius 27A, May 3A and Heyward 10A.
    In return I would get Rizzo 31A, Richard Rodriquez 15A, Bauer 40A, DeJong 7F, David Peralta 1F.

    To me this seems like a trade I should do. I hate giving up Grisham and Walker but to add so much so early in the season seems too good to pass up. Opinions please

    If I had confidence that the Pirates wouldn't deal RichRod and the Cubs deal Rizzo, I'd feel a lot better about the deal.

      Depends on what happens (in your league) if those guys are traded to AL. In ours we keep them, but in many you lose them.

        What are these Only leagues you speak of?

            This seems like an odd trade for you. Bauer is the headliner, but based on your comments he doesn't fit your main areas of need.

            Grisham is arguably the best hitter of the bunch and is well priced. Rizzo is again having back issues and at his advancing age this could be more and more troublesome.

            Rodriguez is off to a nice start, but is really pretty questionable to maintain this kind of value over the year. If/when he gets traded he may well lose his closing gig. He likely gets moved to a contending team that has a decent probability of using him as a setup man.

            I think you should focus on a simpler trade and getting a closer and only give up Grisham for someone more reliable than Rodriguez.

                I thought that too. But rereading he also needs runs, rbi, and ave.
