  • Have to drop an SP and they're kinda similar

Alex Wood, David Peterson, or Robbie Ray. Gotta drop one of them.

They all pitched well this week.

A couple of years ago I had a similar choice to make at this point in the season, so I dropped the one who'd pitched the worst that week. His name was Giolito and it haunts me to this day.

    Who would you drop?

Robbie Ray. That illusionary good day came with a 2.00 WHIP.
I'm just here for the baseball.

Revo gave me the same advice in trade discussions. I should have listened. He lost his strikeout skills....but maintained his ability to walk people. A miracle that he gave up no runs today.

I would still go with Peterson. Ray has shown ability in the past. Now idea if he's toast now, but Peterson hasn't shown what Ray has shown.

Scoring in my points league since i posted this:

Wood 171 (37th best SP overall)
                  Ray 157
                  Peterson 88

I dropped Peterson, thank goodness, but I've yet to actually start Ray, because I keep expecting him to crash. Ha.

Ray looks serviceable. He throws heat with limited movement. It’s not sexy but he has sharply improved his control - in exchange for some more HR. Will be interesting to see how he fares after they leave Dunedin. That said, he has done better at home so far. So who knows?
