I have McNeil and am strongly considering trading for Alonso. Is that smart or crazy?

HQ is the outlier high on McNeil at $29 projected, with Alonso around $13. In LABR, Alonso sold for $24 and McNeil fof $22.

However I’m bullish on Alonso and a bit scared about McNeil. Additionally, I don’t think I can contend this year. McNeil won’t net me much in trade in season. Alonso might if I extend him a year.

The numbers say “don’t do it”, but my instincts say do the deal.

Might be able to get a little something to bridge the gap but not much

I'd say it depends on your team make up and needs, but since you do not think you can contend this year and say McNeil will not net you much in a trade if you end up selling, I would keep Alonso.

yeah, this is a contend versus non-contend decision. If you're pretty convinced challenging for the title isn't in the cards, I'd deal for Alonso.

McNeil is awesome...but go get Pete! I think he's going to have a huge year, which will make him worth a ton in trade (or as a keeper if you extend him).
