Wow! Does this mean Furcal is going to be out longer than expected?

Yea, I can't imagine they'd make this move now unless that was the case

The last time he got hurt he mentioned retiring. I wonder if he is just frustrated with all of his injuries.

He owns himself on his fantasy baseball team.

So what does that mean for Jerry Sands? Will they just let him loose?

Marcus Thames also came off the DL; I think it just means they like him better than Gibbons. Dunno if Sands or Thames will see more PT but I'm sure someone else knows better than I do.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Thames is supposedly in the lineup tonight batting 3rd. That said, think it has more to do with Ethier being out tonight than an indication of future PT. Wouldn't surprised me if Thames got more PT going forward though than he did before the injury (which was scare to say the least).

At the beginning of the year, Gordon was scuffling. Is he still a top-shelf keeper?

Mattingly said Gordon will be the Dodgers' regular SS

I'm guessing, based on this move, cutting Gibbons, and presumably giving Sands major playing time, that the Dodgers realize that they simply don't have enough to make a runthis year. Get the kids some major league time, let them screw up when it really doesn't matter, and hope like hell that they pan out and next year will be different.

I saw Gordon pinch ran yesterday vs the Phills. They need a George Costanza cotton uniform because he is swimming in it. That said, he can really move. Just seeing him go from first to third on a single was fun to watch.

Yeah it was fun to watch Joey Gathright motor around the bases as well. Just didn't happen frequently enough

He looks like the good version of Juan Pierre out there.
