    He wasn't ineligible. That's PEDs

Dang. Is he worth keeping at $2 for 2020 only in a 12 team AL 5x5? I'm thinking it isn't worth typing up a roster spot during the auction. I dumped last year and am all in this year with a ton of value.

            ah.

well, let me rebound with this: German's 147 total IP in 2019 were a career high, and he has 124 and 123 - in the minors - as his next career highs and only other 100+ IP seasons in his career, in spite of being age 28. so this not a lot more extreme than the SP's dreaded "6-game suspension" for plunking somebody.

his value for 2020 isn't harmed by this nearly as much as it might seem at first.

I'm on the fence as well. I have him for $1 in a 14 team mixed 5x5. With $6 & $11 options in 2021/2022. I was leaning toward Heaney as my final keeper over Narvaez and Gregorius. All are priced the same as German. But, i could keep two from this group if i drop German.

I think the big questions with German are: How long will it take for him to throw 6 or more innings after the suspension? Will he need a few minor league starts first since he is going to miss spring training? Will he need an extra month of facing live batters to shake the rust off?

German I believe can pitch in the minors for 2 weeks prior to June 7. and given his tender arm, maybe NYY wait an extra 10 days beyond that. but he should be fairly ready by then. especially because I think he can petition to pitch in minor league spring training.

his waiving of appeal might get him a break or two

He'd be a dead spot coming out of the auction and the first week of the season. I guess the smart move is to offer him to the league and see if anyone else is willing to accept the risk.
