  • AL only 10 team auction results

Here's my team after our 10-team AL auction this weekend. Keepers in bold. Inflation was about 30%. I'm light on saves, but project out pretty good in the other categories. Any thoughts? I got stuck with Tyler Naquin as my last $1 pick, and I hate him. OF is really thin and I'll try to augment that in the reserve rounds (see other forthcoming thread about reserve round targets!). Also not sold on Gio but he seemed worth a $1 endgame flier.

    C Plawecki, Kevin 1
    C Hundley, Nick 1
    1B Cabrera, Miguel 16
    3B Bregman, Alex 40
    CI O'Hearn, Ryan 8
    2B Villar, Jonathan 8
    SS Mondesi, Adalberto 5
    MI Semien, Marcus 15
    OF Pham, Tommy 6
    OF Springer, George 30
    OF Santana, Domingo 13
    OF Pinder, Chad 5
    OF Naquin, Tyler 1
    U Davis, Khris 30

    Carrasco, Carlos 25
    Gonzales, Marco 1
    McHugh, Collin 5
    Glasnow, Tyler 5

    Bauer, Trevor 34
    Gonzalez, Gio 1
    Jimenez, Joe 3
    Peralta, Wily 4
    Alvarado, Jose 1

Here's a text file with all of the auction results, if anyone is curious. Keepers are omitted here.

I dunno, the outfield doesn't look bad for an 'only' league, especially when you consider having Krush Davis in the DH slot to round out the lineup. Pinder will get lots of ABs, at least in the early going.

Seems to me a good squad for the AL, and the saves could come. I'd let 'em play a while. Good work.

Thanks, yeah I think my team projects out pretty well. I meant to say OF is thin in that there's really not much left on the waiver wire to choose from. Naquin was the bottom of the barrel with my last pick. I have positional flexibility most everywhere except OF, so I was hoping to get someone that I could slot in there if needed (ie if I had to move Pinder to 2B or 1B later).

I don't do only-leagues, but that looks like a really good team. Are your 2 catchers going to provide anything at all as I have no idea who they play for and if they will get many AB's.

AVG looks to be a problem, and I know the AL catching pool is sucky, but that's a particularly icky duo. But power and speed are great. Ks are great... ratios probably mid-pack at best, saves mid-pack too. But what you've got, you've got in spades (power and Ks). Apparently Gio is just insurance and pretty far down the depth chart, so if you can replace him with a good middle reliever, it's probably worth doing.

ERA projects as 3.77 (2nd best) and WHIP at 1.25 (3rd or 4th). AVG projected to be .259, which is mid-pack. Saves 6th best. Can maybe replace Gio with one of the following in the reserve rounds:
              Jamie Barria
              Franke Montas
              Marco Estrada
              Ervin Santana
              Ryan Yarborough

Catchers - Plawecki is the CLE catcher, supposedly has a little pop and will play. Hundley is OAK's catcher, will probably split time with Phegley. May try to get Stassi or Sean Murphy to stash.

Your keeper stash was very solid, and your offense looks loaded. Only major hole is saves, and Joe J may plug that up quickly.
