    After me it went

    3.02 German Marquez $2 B
    3.03 Cole Hamels $5 B
    4.01 Willy Adames Farm
    4.02 Scooter Gennett $10

So Doolittle came back to me and that was the easy pick. I had decided to take the safer Gennett over Winker if he was there, but that choice was gone.

So it was Winker who I still really do like in an OBP league or going after a starting pitcher. I can still make trades and figured I'll get Winker here and then take one of the SP's that come back to me (Cole $27, Clevinger $17, Degrom 36). With inflation so low with only a few keepers and farm guys I don't know what those guys are really worth.

But for now I have 5 guys to keep..

    Mondesi farm
    Carpenter 12
    Berrios 5
    Doolittle 3
    Winker 5

      5.02 Kyle Tucker $5 B
      5.03 Gerrit Cole 27 b
      6.01 Corey Knebel 5 b
      6.02 JA Happ 5 b

So I decided to get some pitching depth that I could use if I make a trade or someone gets hurt

      6.03 Mike Clevinger $17 b
      7.01 Jacob DeGrom $36 b

Now we are all just adding depth and options if something changes to our top guys.

$2 Marquez seems like he fell way too far.

And an on price ace like $27 Gerrit Cole seems like he should have gone much earlier.

I think almost none of these guys will be kept. It’s a dispersal draft, no? So just top 4 in this league.

Huh? Each TEAM can keep 4 mlb and 2 minors.

I think both Marquez and Cole should have been considered in rounds 2/3

I looked at Marquez vs Berrios but for me I trust the pedigree of Berrios more to give me a solid year. When I didn't pick Cole and took Winker my thougth was I'd get Clevinger or Cole and I got one. Now Clev is my 5th keeper right now behind Winker but that could change.

Berrios isn't a bad choice there. Your picks were reasonable overall.

I don't see the logic for example in Hamels over Cole for example though. Reasonably priced aces are not easy to find. I think the drafters got caught up in finding "deals" and missed the best player in the draft until late.

Definitely like Clevinger more than Winker.

It is an interesting debate for me between Clev, DeGrom, and Winker.

I rounded out my draft with...

                    $25 Kimbrell
                    $1 A Simmons
                    $8 M Moustakas

Marquez 2nd half 2.57 ERA after 5.14 in first half.
2nd half xERA of 2.45 (!). HQ has that half "fully supported" thanks to "revamped slider."

I know I read my Forecaster and it is impressive, but I think I have always had a crush on Berrios as a player and sometimes it is fun to own guy you want.

There was a guy who has apparently become a big fantasy guy but I still remember as a teenager here who made the good point that Marquez's 2018 looks a whole lot like Jon Gray's 2017. Just sayin'.
