    Ruptured tendon in his biceps

damn. on the one hand if you were relying on him for this season you were probably already in trouble (like me), but on the other I was hoping for a contribution ...
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Probably means a lot of John Hicks at 1B? Which is nice since he qualifies at C in most leagues.

Im contemplating adding Hicks...worth it for drop Barnhart for him? 2 catcher league mixed.

I would. It's not without risk, but in a mixed league, even with 2 C's, Barnhart isn't a huge loss.
I'm just here for the baseball.

For those of who know Detroit and the AL better than I do, what bearing do you think this will have on the potential call-up of Christin Stewart? He has the power they need and seems to have little to prove in AAA.

Defense is the problem. He is a sub-par defender which why Jones is the starter and not Stewart. Tigers don't want him and Castellanos as their corner OF. I believe he may come up when V-Mart is either traded, waived or injured. As a fan I would like to see him come up as Tigers could use more power in the middle of that line-up.

If Hicks is available in your league I would grab him. He should be the starter for the rest of the year provided he stays healthy. The Tigers do have Edwin Espinal in Toledo which if Hicks gets hurt or goes into a bad slump he might get a shot.

It hard pill to swallow that Miggy has a guarantee contract thought 2023 playing him $150 mil. On top of that there was 2 addition years of vesting option paying him 30 mil per. I'm sure he won't meet those incentives but it does come with an $8 mil buyout. Mr I god bless him was too compassionate as an owner. We all knew that the Miggy who was given this contract would not be the MVP Miggy later on in his career. In this day and age doing contracts like this is just bad business. As a fan yes I would love to see a HOF player finish his career here but not at this cost. This isn't pre free agency MLB before Curt Flood opened that door and now the Tigers are paying for this in full. The Cardinals had the sense to do this with Pujols. Mr I should have followed that path.

Also they have Victor Reyes, who is an outfielder that may not be any good but is a Rule 5 guy that they seem excited about keeping, so that takes up one of their bench spots with an OF-only player.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.
