He's had a couple clunkers on the road but dominated the Cubs at home and had a solid start against the Mets at home. Struck out 10 Brewers in his last start so I picked him up for todays game against the Rockies since he has been good at home. 9 more k's in 7 shutout innings today. At home 3 starts 17 1/3 innings with 4 earned runs and 24 k's. Seems interesting, anybody have any insight or have seen him pitch?

His stuff is undeniable, but he is such an extreme flyballer, and one with poor control, I'm don't see how his era ever gets under 4. He is bound to give up too many homers with men on base. Still, his K rate is enticing. It leads to gems like today when he is lucky enough to keep the ball in the park.

I doubt he gets many wins on the Marlins, and his era and whip won't be good. But the K, oh my. If that is all you need, Smith is your huckleberry.

I own him in a no-bench league; it has helped that I was getting good pitching elsewhere.

he doesn't always trust his stuff; threw 42 pitches in the 1st inning at Yankee Stadium (who can blame him, but still).

for a buck in deep NL-only, I have him on a long leash.....
