Both have some 1B time, but I think ultimately the Yanks bring on someone else, because Bird simply can not be counted on. Free agents could include Mark Reynolds and Brandon Moss; trade targets could include AJ Reed/Tyler White, Tommy Joseph, Adrian Gonzalez, Garrett Cooper, Matt Adams or Jesus Aguilar; and they also have Tyler Austin & the recently returned Mike Ford. They're also planning on converting Miguel Andujar to 1B temporarily.
