Help with first round pick in Moxed Keeper

14 team Mixed H2H with 4 mandatory forever keepers and 0-4 late round forever keepers. 1C 3OF 1UT so it's a shallow league.

We started the draft via email and will finish online Thu. ETA: I am on deck.

ETA: I have picks 8 and 9. My keepers: mandatory Encarnacion/J.Ramirez/Yelich/Kluber late round Trumbo/Strasburg

First round so far: Hoskins Pham Cespedes Keuchel Shaw Acuna S.Marte W.Myers (updated) KDavis Ray Paxton Devers

I'm thinking I need to avoid an OF since I already have 2 unless KDavis falls to me. So, I'm looking at Taylor, Baez, Andrus or Devers. The multi-position eligibility of Taylor/Baez is valuable.

The top P available are Hill Hendricks Price Lester. With Kluber/Stras rostered I plan to draft hitters with my first 2 picks. Should I consider any of the pitchers at #16?

Yeah, I'd probably go with devers 1st in a potential forever keeper scenario. I'd probably move Cain up to the 5th position on your list, and drop Braun down. If Ray is there, yes to the #16...and I love Paxton, but he just can't stay healthy.

Limited keep forever, so Devers would replace EE/J-Ram/Yelich/Kluber. I guess I could see him being better than EE/Yelich for 2019+.

I think that EE would be the correct drop for the future, not necessarily for this year.

I just checked and because some teams have 4 late round keepers and won't be drafting in round 19, I have picks 8-9. Any player drafted in those rounds can be kept forever backfilled from round 22.

Elvis. Crawford has been simply spectacular the last 6 weeks or so, but I'd bet on return to norm sometime in the next couple weeks. Which isn't bad, but not near the 5-category help you can get from Andrus if he's healthy.
