  • WhaT happened to Beachy?

    Is he hurt?
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Yup, looks like he hurt his back when he was batting. Not arm/elbow/shoulder at least, but he couldn't quite bend all the way down when he was warming up after his AB.

Brandon Beachy (oblique) all but confirmed Saturday that he is headed to the disabled list.
"I wish I would have woke up this morning and it was better, but unfortunately it’s not," Beachy said Saturday. "However long this keeps me out – I have no idea, hopefully not long — it’s going to be a mental battle as much as it is physical, to get myself ready to go again." The Braves will wait until Sunday to make an official roster move, as Scott Proctor is expected to be called up from the minor leagues. Julio Teheran, Mike Minor or Rodrigo Lopez will replace him in the starting rotation.

                Beachy out a month...
                Rotoworld:
With Mike Minor slated to start for Triple-A Gwinnett Sunday, it looks like it will be Julio Teheran that will replace the injured Brandon Beachy (oblique) in the rotation.
There's a chance Minor could just go an inning or two Sunday and then be ready for Wednesday's start, but all signs are pointing to Teheran getting the nod at this point. Rodrigo Lopez is another option, but since he is out of options and thus can't be sent right back down following a spot start, that hurts his chances.
