  • RJEL Keepers

Looking for advice on some early RJEL keepers. 18 teams, 5x5 with obp. FWIW, my team is going to stink this year so I am leaning toward 2019 keepers and tradeable assets. We can keep 10:

DGordon 19 (last year of contract)
    AHicks 1
    FRivero 1
    Taillon 6
    Treinen 3
    Bruce 22
    Joyce 2
    JUpton 37
    Solarte 12
    Gyorko 12
    Carpenter 31
    Aroldis 22
    Estrada 2
    JGray 6
    Stephenson 5

Here's the way that I'd probably go...keepers in bold.

I think that's the way I'd go...not a fan of Estrada, but at 2 bucks, he's keepable. Carpenter at 31 is too expensive, and so is Upton, although he may well go for that at auction. Solarte is an option, but at 12, likely at value.

Hmmm....I can only pick out 5 definite keepers. Taillon was just soooo bad last year after his return. It's almost like you have to keep him, but in the back of your mind you really want to be rid of him. The others are all fairly priced or not really keeper worthy, so I'd probably just toss them all back.

This, but I keep Taillon for the upside in 2019.

I always like to keep some trade chips if I know that I'm going to rebuild. Chapman is a great chip, closers are always in demand. A 22 buck Bruce isn't great, but for someone looking for power he's a good price. Gyorko the same, good price and 30 HR power, along with the possibility of positional flexibility.

That means you have to suffer through 2018!

Keep Estrada. He's worth more than 2.

Thanks everyone. Clearly I can rule out a couple of these guys.

I am late to the party. I agree with this.

In addition I would not keep Taillon. I would put him back and see if I could get him back cheaper and with a new contract.
