So the Bucs deal their two stars and get middling players back. Why?

They expect an MVP year from Polanco?

When the club exercised their option, something like this was on the horizon.

The demand isn’t that great. Cole hasn’t panned our fully. McCutchen has one year remaining and is not a great defender any more.

I own Crick in my NL as a speculative add from LY and he just became a possible keeper. Nice arm if he can get a spot in the rotation.

Crick is nothing, Giants rob the Pirates yet again

I agree. Crick is a quality reliever at best. Not sure what the Pirates were thinking with everyone there trade. D be mad as a Pirates fan.

Happy for the Giants. Had hoped they would land Stanton.

                              Terrible weekend for Pittsburgh fans:
Saturday: Gerrit Cole gone from the Pirates.
Sunday: Steelers gone from the playoffs.
Monday: Andrew McCutchen gone from the Pirates.
