  • Zach Britton: Torn Achilles (12-20-17)

Merry Christmas, O's fans, it's a lump of coal and not even the one you were expecting!

I saw that he's out 5-to-6 months, which seems on the light side. Hellooo, Brad Brach!

I believe he's arb-eligible, and not signed yet. Is that something the arbitrator takes into account? Or is he going to get 12 million or whatever?

I have both both Brach and Britton as Toppers so I am covered but I was kind of hoping for a trade so I could have 2 closers. Sometimes Greed is bad.

Brach is still on an expiring contract too so not a guarantee he won't be moved. Not sure who would be next in line but "should" be Givens.

As a Brach owner I would love him to hold the job all year. I can also see the O's wanting to see if Givens is up to the task. My take: If they get an offer they like before opening day, Brach is wearing a different uni, if not he gets the job to see if they can up his trade value, he gets moved as soon as an acceptable offer comes in and Givens takes over. If they keep Britton he'll slowly make his way back and get a few saves in September....
