I don't think anybody can properly talk me off the ledge after this bullshit off-season. Jeter colludes with the Yankees and according to an article I read his goal is to break up the entire team. Fine. They had a terrific offense and were two starting pitchers away from contending. I look at the prospects that he's gotten in return and I don't see a f'ing thing. This franchise once traded Miguel Cabrera for Andrew Miller and Cameron Maybin and that looks like a great deal compared to this garbage

looking at things objectively (I have no dog in this fight), I agree with you. It wouldn't surprise me to see the league commish get involved (if these were roto trades the league would have veto'ed the Stanton trade & then kicked out the owner!).

edit: and don't look now but ...

It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

I didn't think it was possible for new ownership to be worse than Loria, but so far, they have proven me wrong. I'm glad I haven't been emotionally invested in the Marlins in over a decade. That area deserves better.

Sandy Alcantara & Magneuris Sierra are two of the players heading to Miami.

Time to get baseball out of Miami, what a joke. Loria to Jeter...what a baton hand off.

Hah! I see what you did there...and Jetes is make the Marlin fans perform his favorite bedroom activity, if the rumors are to be believed.

Horrible how this has turned out, just horrible. I really feel for you Marlin fans having this happen time after time, after time...MLB should really be ashamed for what they've done to South Florida.

And yet they have more WS wins in the last 100 years than the Cubs!

Marlins rolled over on this one, not getting Weaver, Flaherty or Reyes. C’mon Jeets. 20 years of never failing in NY, and the guy becomes a Keystone Kop in Florida.

Wasn't there a movie about an owner wanting to lose so they could move the team?

Alcantara has potential and maybe Sierra is Juan Pierre 2.0, but yeah, for 2 cheap years of a good cost controlled OF, this return seems awfully light.

Ozuna might be the Cards' best hitter, and they shipped Piscotty to Oakland for not much to clear some space. Wonder if this means the Cards are out on adding an infielder?

Are you saying there's a picture of Jeter that the players are undressing?

Now the important stuff: Keep Ozuna at 29 in an NL only?

10 or 12 teams? Inflation? 5x5? Probably a little worse lineup than the one he was in last year. Last year was probably a career year. He doesn't run. He hit between .259 and .266 for 4 straight seasons before last year. It's hard to pay $29 for .280-35-115 and that seems maybe generous with the AVG? I do love the power though.
