  • Stanton to the Evil Empire a done deal?

That's what 's being tweeted this morning!
It certainly feels that way. But I'm distrustful of that feeling and am curious about evidence.

Reportedly Castro going to the Marlins

I reported #Yankees are sending at least Castro to #Marlins among veterans and prospects, but not their top ones

Where's Pauly? I hope he's not playing in traffic.

A healthy Stanton hits 60+ in that bandbox for sure.

He doesn’t hit maybe homers. Won’t change a thing at home. Road is another factor though because he’ll love Baltimore, Toronto, Boston

Or he plays his traditional 115 games and the Yankee fans turn on him...be careful what you wish for.

And, if they take this horrible contract on, what does this mean for Machado and Harper when they come out next year? Frankly, I'd rather have either one of them than Stanton...and I doubt NY wants to go above the salary cap again.

In all seriousness, if this deal actually happens every Yankee hit will be a HR with a shit ton of strikeouts mixed in for effect. Judge and Stanton together? K city.

A quick recap: Jeter bought the Marlins using mostly other people’s money, completely gutted them, pushed out a bunch of longtime employees, and traded their once-in-a-Generation player to the Yankees.

Castro to MIA, Yanks pay $265 out of $295M on Stantons contract.

                        Who plays 2b in NY?

Stanton is a very good player and is capable of hitting 300 with between 50 to 70 homers per year in N.Y.. He might do that or he might hate playing under the pressure of the Bronx as other players have in the past. He should have accepted a trade to the Cardinals I think he would have been happier there.

The speculation I have seen this morning is that Torreyes and Wade would fill in there until Gleyber Torres is deemed ready to take over (which might not take very long).

                            New news from Joel Sherman.

The minor leaguers #Marlins are getting are Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers, who is Rafael Devers' cousin.

they already let the league in HR in 2017, and this reminds me of "if we collect enough strong RPs, we're golden!"
