  • Which P to drop (AL-only)?

Need to activate Jordan Montgomery soon and I've got myself a glut of good-not-great pitchers to choose from:

Boxberger - killing it since he came off the DL and even got me a couple wins
Anibal Sanchez - looking great since moving back to the rotation
Mike Fiers - striking out a ton but also walking quite a few
Andrew Moore - looking pretty good so far but fairly limited K upside

I'd drop Moore. He's so meh.

I'll make it easy for you...LOL. I'd drop Sanchez...he's a stick of dynamite with the fuse already lit.

          I like Moore.

I'm a sucker for the high K/BB ratios like he has.

But there may be something in the scouting side that is more telling on the negative side.

He likes to give up HRs. He isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. He has good control. If you love Josh Tomlin, you'll like Andrew Moore.

You guys sure are a lot of help

I can wait until Montgomery's next start so I'm going to see how Sanchez and Moore's starts go today. I'm not expecting much from Anibal (he's on my bench) but if he gets rocked I'll feel fairly comfortable dropping him and if he dominates I'll have to look elsewhere.

I'm just scouting the boxscores with nothing else to go on so forgive me if I'm missing it but his career 0.8 HR/9 seems fine. Whereas Tomlin's 1.6 HR/9 is problematic.

Apparently today wasn't a good day for the Moore argument. He's not doing much to help my case!

I suspect Tomlin's HR/9 was OK in the minors too. Even before today, Moore seems like a guy who is going to be around the zone a lot.

Tomlin showed signs in the minors too - 1.3 HR/9 at AA.

We'll see - so far you look correct on Moore.
