Time to dump?

My championship team has been in the cellar after a brutal 13-34-3 start in the first 5 weeks of the season (12 team, H2H).

Still, I'm only 10 points out of the playoffs, and I have some talent.

Should I blow up this team?

I have to keep 4 excluding Strasburg and Trumbo who are dynasty keepers backfilled from Round 22. The last 4 rounds are dynasty keepers. Also, I already traded Bellinger's rights.

I'd say that it's too early for you to dump in a points league with playoffs. Once you get in, as you well know, anything can happen. I played in a H-H point league for about 5 years, I think that I had the most talent for 3 of those years, and I'd get bounced out in the playoffs. I had to quit because I hated that part of it...

To get late round keepers (Thor, Swanson/Sano/Berrios are options) or better draft picks. My players are depreciating assets to teams in the hunt.

Well, I stuck with this team and climbed into 5th place this week, winning 5 straight matchups by a total of 32-10. I'm now 12 back of first.

Today I made a deal with fuhrdog.

Gave: Cahill, Bregman, 8th, 15th
Got: Price, Rivero, Arcia, 3 add/drops, 12th, 16th

We must keep 4 so the draft 'starts' with Round 5. We can also keep up to 4 dynasty keepers in rounds 19-22. We have 25 adds er year and I've used 19.

No major players but Price is a nice upgrade over Cahill, especially now that he's in the AL, and Rivero gives me a bonafide closer to go with Johnson, Dyson and Madson (so more work to do).
I reacquired Arcia who is a late-round dynasty keeper and is hitting right now. Also, we are H2H this week, and this trade helps me to win the matchup with tougher ones looming.

This team finished in 4th and won the first two playoff rounds to return to the finals. The moral of the story: don't give up on a talented team!
