Dealing Scherzer

    Dealing Scherzer

    I am toying with the idea of dealing Scherzer in my H2H dynasty league.

    the Pitching categories are thus:

    Ip, K, K/9, K/BB, whip, Era, QS, Win %

    Daily Transactions.

    My SP staff is as follows:

    Scherzer
    Keuchel
    Cueto
    Odorizzi
    R Ray
    R Hill
    L Perdomo

    C Rondon
    C McHugh

    I am thinking of dangling him to the owners of Thor I'd try to get him and a lesser arm with potential.

    The owner with Thor has Berrios and Archer I'm thinking I can get Berrios and Thor, but not Archer but is either one something I should consider?

    Is Berrios and Thor worth Max? I'm pretty sure Archer and Thor is. Though I could be wrong.

    In a dynasty league I would keep Scherzer until he retired!

        Yeah slightly different, our picks are of lesser value as they're usually #100-#112 players for 1st round picks (we keep 10) NO minor league system so "dynasty" is in the concept of--you can keep 10, no salaries and no contracts. I released A Reyes in this league because the DL is 4 Max and the Reserve Roster is 6 max. I have Eaton, Chapman, Kuechel, C Rondon, C McHugh and J Donaldson on my DL right now.

        I guess my question should be, down the stretch given a healthy Thor--is Max+Perdomo better than Thor +Berrios?

          Thor/Berrios is the better combo if Thor is healthy and therr is. o way I gamble losing Max with Thirs availabilty and effectiveness real concerns at this point.
          After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

            What he said. The only possible change to that would be if I'd get Thor and Archer, but I'd even have to think long and hard about that given that Thor has multiple years more of the Mets medical staff to deal with.

                Which Sanchez? Aaron?

                Betts is a nice enough target that it might be worth considering. Would rather have a better piece than Tanaka/Sanchez though. You want top-end, not quantity. Even if you send a second piece along with Scherzer, would look to improve the other piece that accompanies Betts.

                Also what are your offensive categories?

                  Betts for Scherzer is about even, in my book, so the others are gravy. Yes, pitching trumps hitting in H-H leagues, but the 10 year age difference also makes a difference. Worth the gamble with your other pitching.

                      No, it's an offer I'm trying to broker--but I think I'm going to hold onto Max for now, my Offense is pretty solid, Hicks isn;t hurting me at all, but I do love me some Betts and have been trying to pry him away from this particular owner for a year.....
