Lester for Odorizzi/G.Richards & K.Seager?

6x6 mixed keeper. AVG, HR, RBI, R, OBP, SB; W, QS, K, WHIP, ERA, K.

I'm never a big fan of even great starters and if I DO draft top arms I usually just use them as trade bait. And with one ace and a smattering of decent K guys, I can usually NOT finish last in W, K, QS; finish up top if not first in SV, ERA, WHIP; while running away with most offensive categories. Was just offered:

I get: K.Seager and choice of G.Richards/Odorizzi
He gets: Lester.

MI - Siemien
OF - Stanton, Trumbo, B.Hamilton, D.Fowler

RP - Melancon, Kintzler, K.Glover, A.Reed, Rodney, J.Gomez, D.Hudson

Don't necessarily NEED another good bat—I'm higher than a lot on current 3B/CI, Valencia, in that Seattle lineup/park—but still...would you do this? Thanks.

way too early to mess with it in my opinion. Yes Seager is clearly better than Valencia, but that is really a massive downgrade at pitcher for a smaller upgrade on your offense. And who would you wind up benching? I guess Valencia...if you are high on him you dont want that production on your bench. Dont do it.

Yeah, in a vacuum I might like it, but you don't really need the bat, and that's a big hit to take in a league where QS is a stat. With Rodney, Kintzler, Gomez, you're not finishing near the top in ERA/WHIP. I don't trust Odorizzi or Richards to go deep enough to get many QS.

I agree - -I'm not trading the best player in the deal, a legit ace, before the season even begins. Pass.
