  • keepers - NL - nine team 5x5

I had an old NL 12 team auction league -it spanned Chipper Jones's entire MLB career and it slowly have been resurfacing in a more dilute form

We did a snake draft and now are going back to a $260 9 team draft with a less positions, 1b,3b,ss,2b,c, 4 OF, util1, util2, 9 pitchers - 7 bench 5x5 yahoo with OBA instead average

so - I can keep 4 at their current salary this year
    suggestions
Carlos Martínez (StL - SP) $4.00
    Wil Myers (SD - 1B,OF) $11.00
Dansby Swanson (Atl - SS) $1.00
Tyler Glasnow (Pit - SP) $4.00
Marcell Ozuna (Mia - OF) $9.00
    Yasmani Grandal(LAD - C) $10.00
    A.J. Ramos(Mia - RP) $17.00
Ender Inciarte (Atl - OF) $4.00
    Jung Ho Kang (Pit - 3B) $2.00
Travis Jankowski (SD - OF) $7.00
    Iván Nova (Pit - SP,RP) $7.00
Curtis Granderson (NYM - OF) $9.00
    Hyun-Jin Ryu (LAD - SP) $3.00
Tony Watson (Pit - RP) $6.00
    Mark Reynolds (Col - 1B) $7.00
Mauricio Cabrera (Atl - RP) $7.00
Brandon Maurer (SD - RP) $7.00
Tony Cingrani (Cin - RP) $7.00
    César Hernández (Phi - 2B) $8.00
    Ryan Zimmerman (Was - 1B) $13.00
Jaime García (Atl - SP) $15.00
    Gerardo Parra (Col - 1B,OF) $19.00

also - I like stars and scrubs strategy and wonder if it works better with less teams than more - maybe I can grab 4 stars at $40 and fill in the rest - thoughts are appreciated

      I like your top 4

Carlos Martínez (StL - SP) $4.00
      Wil Myers (SD - 1B,OF) $11.00
Dansby Swanson (Atl - SS) $1.00
Tyler Glasnow (Pit - SP) $4.00

That gives you 240 going into the draft/auction.

2 studs and 2 high end prospects who should be great this season.

Glasnow could give you nothing, and Swanson may never be the fantasy stud some people think he'll be...

With 9 teams, replacement value is great, so I'm looking for cheap guys that give you high value over the replacement pool, I'd keep Martinez, Myers, Inciarte, and Kang

The talent is there with Kang, but can you afford to have him miss a big chunk of the season in a 9 teamer?

Tough calls, but I'd probably go with this. I'm a bigger fan of Ozuna than Iciarte, and might spend the extra money to keep him, but the price difference makes it a tough choice.

I might bump Glasnow for Janokowski. Glasnow still hasn't found the strike zone and it may be awhile before he puts it all together
