  • 16 Teams H2H; How does it look?

16 team roto-H2H using OBA and Holds

16 teams H2H. 454 players rostered. I was picking last every round.

    C Russell Martin
    1B Paul Goldschmidt
    2B Robinson Canó
    3B Jung-Ho Kang
    SS Aledmys Diaz
    MI Orlando Arcia
    CI Ian Desmond
    OF Christian Yelich
    OF Max Kepler
    OF David Peralta
    OF Kevin Pillar
    Util Cheslor Cuthbert

    SP Carlos Carrasco
    SP Carlos Rodon
    SP Michael Fulmer
    SP Sean Manaea
    RP Dellin Betances
    RP Kelvin Herrera
    RP Nate Jones
    P Jim Johnson
    P Jon Gray
    P Zach Davies

    BN Zack Wheeler
    BN Jorge Polanco
    BN Dan Straily
    BN Jefry Marte
    BN Jake Bauers
    BN Victor Robles
    BN Shohei Otani

    How does it look?
Any useful 30-something players for when Ian Desmond hits the DL?

This is a keeper league. Many picks look more to 2018 than current year.

If it is a keeper league why would Desmond hit the WW?

It is not a bad team, but with Kang most likely missing a good portion of the season and the injury to Desmond, you are going to need some unexpected good fortune to stay in the hunt until they come back.

If it wasn't for Kang and Desmond, I'd say you have a pretty good team. I especially like your pitching, especially in a holds league.

But you have no hitting depth on your bench, and that is going to be a big problem for you if you can't find decent people to replace Kang long term, and Desmond for at least a month or so.

Oops. Desmond will hit the DL and I go WW fishing.

3B is a work in progress. I had no one and few prospects, so I traded Yasmany Tomas and a pick for Gray and Kang. Then I drafted Polanco, Cuthbert and Marte in the hopes I can find a replacement for Kang. Polanco at least has a starting job.

As noted, as soon as MLB rosters are finalized, I will fish the WW. This is how I found Aledmys Diaz.

We roster over 450 players, but some are still in rookie ball. Who after is likely to slide through 400 picks but still be usable? For example, is Byung-ho Park going to make the team and start? WW will have the likes of Mauer and Pedro Alvarez. Is another 30-something one-year player likely to fall through?

Pedro Alvarez went undrafted. Saturday he re-signed with the Orioles. Should I target him on WW?

Yes. Even in a platoon role, he could help you in case of injuries. Does your league have a 10-game or 20-game qualify? In a 10-game league, his value goes up a lot since he qualifies at 3B.

Correct, he's 3B/CI. Plus he's likely to gain OF eventually.

How is Orlando Arcia looking this spring?

Arcia is looking OK - not great, but there's some positives. On the bad side, he seems to be slated for the #7 hole in the lineup. There's still some TBD on that, but that sure looks like how it'll shake out.

This is the team to beat--again. He has had Trout and Kershaw for three straight years--no titles.
