Barring an injury to first baseman Daniel Murphy, Reynolds' role will be more limited this year.

      From RW:

Daniel Murphy is flying to Arizona to meet with a hand specialist to see if he's dealing with mallet finger.
Mallet finger would mean he has tendon damage in addition to a fracture of his left index finger. If it is determined that he does have mallet finger, it would mean several weeks on the injured list. Obviously, that would be a major blow to the Rockies and to Murphy's fantasy owners. Mark Reynolds is starting at first base in Murphy's place Sunday, and Garrett Hampson also should see an uptick in playing time when Ryan McMahon is at second.

And Hampson gets to face 2018 Cy Young, Blake Snell. Lol.

David Dahl removed from the game Sunday after grabbing his side after his first at-bat.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

Much more concerning for Dahl since he's had a lot of issues with that area. Very bad. They're saying possible oblique

I tried very hard to trade for a $15A Dahl this off season. I was convinced that this was the year he was going to be a monster. I have probably owned him 80% of the time since he first appeared as a prospect. Through a strange circumstance in our rules he was picked up with a new contract last year. Taken the pick just before mine. I think I am done with him now.

Sometimes the best trade we make is the one we don't.

And now McMahon goes on the IL. Playing in front of Reynolds should be considered hazardous duty!

Sorry, the top answer was... "China Dahl."
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, "it means just what I choose it to mean - neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, "which is to be master - that's all."

You guys need to eat your insults now!

Rockies manager Bud Black said Monday that David Dahl has a "slight" core injury and will not be placed on the injured list for the time being.
It's a pleasant surprise, as it had seemed like Dahl was headed for the IL after tweaking his lower abdomen on a swing Sunday. He will not start on Monday but it sounds like he could return to action in a few days. Raimel Tapia and Garrett Hampson are starting in the Rockies' outfield Monday, with Pat Valaika at second base and Ian Desmond on the bench.

Indeed! I picked him up for $2 in the endgame, to fill my 1B slot. I was disappointed he didn't get the start, tonight...but he delivered a pinch-hit, two-run HR.
