Originally posted by revo View PostYeah, that seems about right. At this point, I think we can only expect 150 IP IF HEALTHY. But remember, he was pretty mediocre last year, so if you're going to get 150 IP of last year's Price, that's probably not worth it either.
In larger leagues I'm avoiding even past this point in the draft because I can't afford to take a blank. But to win a small league you have to hit big, there's no point in taking a lot of mediocre safe picks. Might as well take a chance.

I can't see how he's hitting 95 mph baseballs in a month. Using my experience, I'd say he's not up to speed until the Break, and who knows if he'll be able to drive the ball much afterwards. I hope I'm wrong, but I can understand why many were scratching him off their lists entirely.

In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.

David Price could resume playing catch by Monday or Tuesday. "I don't think this is anything compared to what he went through in spring training in terms of severity," manager John Farrell said. "That's by his own admission."
