What's the longest contract you have extended someone?

I've had Trout since 2010 (the year before he got called up). This will be the last year on his contract (I extended him four years). Likewise, I had Ryan Braun from 2006 to 2012 (I extended him four years). Their years in the minors didn't count against my auction budget.

The longest I've ever seen someone get extended was Ryan Howard - he got extended six years .... ouch!!!!! The owner deeply regretted it in 2012 and '13.

I used to extend pitchers (a year, maybe two), but just don't do it anymore. Too much risk.
