Some lively discourse on him from the 'Never Again!' thread:
All of us have them....guys who after said season will forever be on your "I will never draft this muthaeffer ever again" list. Who made it this year for you?
Mine is hands down undoubtedly Ben Revere. Never again.

I think as a non-Revere/Ross owner, those guys are bargains for next year. In Ross's case it was an injury, but I still have no idea what happened with Revere. Very bizarre. An amazingly consistent .300, high contact hitter in the prime of his career just doesn't fall off the cliff.
I thought Revere was the exact kind of player who tends to fall off a cliff (but now that you said that I'm not so sure, lol).
You know, looking into it further, maybe you're right (to an extent).
Looking at Revere's comps, they almost all experienced a decline in SBs, which I think is normal as players age. But he experienced a massive decline in overall productivity, and that's alarming. My thinking is players with his high contact rate bounce back, but maybe they don't as much as I thought. Some did, but it took a few seasons to get back to where they were, but many who did lost the speed aspect of their game.
What's alarming about Revere is he hit .305, .306 and .306 the last three seasons -- as stable as they come.
I'd still take a chance and buy him next year at a lower cost.
