Catcher trade, part II: deal has expanded

A revision of my not-at-all-popular thread below: now he wants a larger deal...6x6 mixed keeper (OBP being the extra offensive category). No keeper implications, we're both playing for this year.

I give: Stanton, Ellsbury, Ramos, Rendon
he gives: Goldschmidt, LeMahieu, Cishek, S.Leon

I'd get nice boost in AVG/OBP with Goldy and LeMahieu, saves, decent HR w/ Goldy; he'd get uptick in power, decent steals with Ellsbury/Rendon, and the best C in baseball. But if Leon catches lightning in a bottle, who knows, this one might be worth it.

I think you're giving more value than you're getting, but this time of year it's all subjective. If you have solid positions in power and SB, but can gain in saves, avg and OBP, then it's worth it...if you're not helping him too much.

I'm not a believer in Leon. I would not do this deal.

Goldschmidt > Stanton -- slight nod to Goldy
LeMahieu ~ Rendon -- wash, but nod to LeMahieu on BA
Ellsbury > Cishek -- Ellsbury has been slightly above mediocre, but I don't really trust Cishek. But if you do, this might be close to a wash.
Ramos >>> Leon -- I'm not buying Leon.


I'd need a better catcher than Leon; or, a better closer than Cishek; or, another player involved where you're getting the nod.
