  • Trade Markakis for Rios

5x5 Mixed Keeper league - no salaries but both are in the last year of their "contracts". Markakis is steady and has been a doubles machine over the last three years but doubles dont help at all in 5x5. With Rios, I'd be buying very low but at least he's got some power and some speed. And eventually, that White Sox team has to start killing the ball.

    Any thoughts?

I would kill to move Markakis for Rios.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

if it's not an OBP league, Markakis is as over-rated as they come. I'd do this deal in a millisecond.

I agree. Markakis still has a good AVG but otherwise is pretty dull. Rios has huge upside. Of course, he could also hit .199 and suck all year again. But if you need to roll the dice I'd do it.

One more vote with the majority. I can't understand what has happened to Markakis. When he came up, he looked like he was going to be a real star.

Me neither. I thought 20-20 for years to come when I first acquired him... I'm in first place with him on the bench but I thought if I could steal Rios on the buy-low, why not. He's also giving up on Matt Garza so I'm trying to play an angle to buy low on him too...
