You do realize PEDs were involved in that correct? If you don't think they help, read some of the articles from recent Lenny Dykstra interviews....
Really, Lenny Dykstra anecdotal "evidence" is the standard we now follow?

I know that they help, the question is how MUCH they help...and WHAT they help the player do.

I don't think that we'll have any really clear evidence do that until next year about this time. And yes, with his speed, I don't see any reason why he can't be a .300 hitter, none whatsoever.

Cant tell you how many times I have heard that about Hamilton and Buxton. I grant you that Gordon did it once while Buxton and Hamilton haven't but speed doesn't make someone a .300 hitter.

Nope, but it (speed), and experience, sure help.

From my perspective, Dietrich will be a sort of super utility guy for 3-5 weeks once Dee returns and if the Marlins are really contenders for the postseason come late August, he will start playing 2B more regularly and Gordon will sit because he cant play in the postseason and Dietrich needs to be ready.

if Gordon is playing well but they sit him enough in September so that as a result they don't make the playoffs that he wouldn't play in - wait, wait Mattingly IS the manager. it could happen.

Realmuto 4 for 4 today, man on 2nd, none out in top of 8th of 6-6 game. has him try two bunts, both foul. but he walks.
.320 hitting Prado follows, and he bunts into a DP

I am really beginning to like Dietrich. There is not a lot of power, but he is a decent RBI guy. The HBP is as much as many players walk. It adds up to R, RBI, and OBA but under the radar.

You didn't mention that Realmutto had a great day the day before also and that Prado is one of league leading hitters against left handed pitching and the pitcher was left handed.

Management has stated that they will find creative ways to keep Dietrich in the lineup so Gordon will be an everyday player. At times they have taken out Dietrich late in games for defensive purposes.

The Marlins would probably be best off trading Prado for pitching and putting Dietrich at third but they need to find a trade partner and it has to be later in the month.

I really thought he would show more power with the increased playing time but I'm not complaining about the BA or OBP. Honestly, the Marlins should sell high on Prado or Bour but it seems that Dietrich will be a Profar-like super utility when Gordon comes back.
