Okay, it's time: a little Wilson Ramos love?

Okay, I've been reluctant to mention Ramos because (A) I own him and (B) don't want to jinx his amazing start. BUT, I also think it's high time this guy got some props for being the single best fantasy catcher so far. Not Posey, McCann, or W.Castillo. Not Yadi Molina, Gattis, R.Martin, Lucroy or Sal. Perez. Nope....Ramos.

Okay, hope I didn't screw him and all of us Ramos owners...but man has he been a pleasant surprise (I orig. drafted Yan Gomes late thinking he'd get me 20-25 HR and maybe if he's lucky hit .240-.250.) -- .340 AVG, .389 OBP (a category in my league), .557 SLG, tops in HR (12), RBI (44), top 3 in R (35)....and a solid (for a catcher) 31/19 K/BB rate.

His .350 BABIP, however, is a full point higher than last year and the dude has zero wheels so, wait, IS HE A SELL HIGH CANDIDATE?? SHOULD I TRADE HIM FOR POSEY, SAL PEREZ OR LUCROY?!?!?!?!

I own Ramos for $9 in a 12 team NL league with 1 catcher slot and an extra UT. I also drafted Grandal $8, Montero $8, and Norris $7. I wanted to lock down a young, cheap catcher to build around, and I had my money on Grandal or Norris, but it looks like Ramos has broken through.

The corrected vision correlating with better contact tells me this breakout is absolutely legit. Maybe not .335 batting average legit... but a 15% K rate is very good contact to pair with a .550 SLG, so the BA could stay above .300! Love the late career catcher breakouts.
