  • Wong walking in Memphis

Cardinals optioned 2B Kolten Wong to Triple-A Memphis.
After former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese sprained his ankle and said he was tripped on the stairs of his home by his golden retriever, Bella: “The dog stood up on his hind legs and gave him a push? You might want to get rid of that dog, or put him in the circus, one of the two.”

Peralta is signed through 2017. If Diaz maintains at SS I can't see the Cards keeping both Wong and Gyorko. Both have contracts which other teams would be interested in dealing for. Does anybody else see a trade happening?

Just extended this year, I will refrain from the gone Wong puns.

Peralta is 34. I would not count on him much past this season.

Wong is a viable asset for trade, as are Gyorko and Peralta. Now the question remains as to how much they might bring in return, and are they simply more valuable as quality depth? My guess is that they just won't bring back enough to make any of them (other than Diaz at this point) worth dealing. I think that they sit tight with all four...

Coming out of my drafts, I had three cheap shares of Wong. In one league, I traded him away for Mark Appel and JP Crawford. I wish I could have done the same in the others.
