    "Win now" trade or loser?

    I'm in a dogfight for first place. Need OBP/AVG mostly, WHIP/ERA, and could use steals.

    I get: Kinsler, Blackmon, A.Chapman
    I give: Correa, Cespedes, Familia

    Would hate losing Correa (whom I can keep for one more year) now that he's heating up, but Kinsler has topped him in 5 of 6 categories (.315, 47R, 11HR, 32RBI, 7SB, .365OBP to Correa's .267, 8HR, 32 RBI, 8 SB, .357 OBP). I'd obviously lose power with Cespedes to Blackmon, but AVG, OBP/ SB (ceiling) higher with Chuck & Cespedes hip is a little worrisome (?). And Chapman = obvious WHIP/ERA upgrade to Familia (and I have A. Miller as insurance).

    Anyway, not sold on this at all, just like what Kinsler is bringing right now...

    And there's one more possible Correa deal on table...

    I give: Correa, Segura & Familia
    I get: C.Seager & I.Desmond

    I'm good on saves so Familia isn't a big loss. I think Segura will keep plunging (and I have Profar to step in at MI), Seager and Correa are fairly close, and Desmond will give me SB/R/comparable RBI.

    No way on deal one. By August you'd be wrapped up in more self-loathing and regret than Alanis Morisette.

    I don't think deal two cuts it, but it's not as bad as deal one.

        Yeah, I did a similar deal with Kris Bryant a couple years ago. I know how it goes. Going for a pennant run, it can be easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees.

        It's one of many reasons I like this site.

            And just got another possibility that I like better:

            My Donaldson, Parra, Familia, J.Gomez for his K.Bryant (keeper), Blackmon, A.Chapman.

              I like this deal. Any salaries or players that can't be kept that would hinder this deal?
              Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

                This is a re-draft, no salaries, can keep players for two years in round-drafted (long as they were drafted 10th round and later)...Bryant is the only keeper of this bunch. Guess he values extra saves and maybe Donaldson's slightly higher power ceiling ?

                          Yup, said I'd do it...but this is the point in my league when most owners get all a'scawwwwwwwed to trade, when rubber meets the road, etc. so we'll see if he mans up now that I've verbally accepted.
