    I have Thor at $10 2017.

I am thinking of offering him for an expiring Scherzer and Street.

    Fair?

    Too Much to ask for?

    Too Little?

Edit: Also, what's Glasnow at $2 (can be extended) worth if I'm sending him to a dumping owner.
If I whisper my wicked marching orders into the ether with no regard to where or how they may bear fruit, I am blameless should a broken spirit carry those orders out upon the innocent, for it was not my hand that took the action merely my lips which let slip their darkest wish. ~Daniel Devereaux 2011

I wouldn't trade a cheap Thor in a keeper league unless Odin himself came down, plucked out his all seeing eye, smashed it into my head, and I saw with unwavering certainty that doing so would win me a title, and not doing so would lose me the title. If you need saves that bad, surely there is a way to get them without giving up Thor.

As far as a $2 Glasnow, he is worth a hell of a lot. If I'm in FFF mode, and I realize that Taillon is probably getting the call this year before Glasnow and I might not see Glasnow really pay off until 2017, that is the guy I move, but I'd want a lot to make me give him up. A strong case can be made that Urias is the best pitching prospect in baseball, but until he throws over 100 innings in a season (his high is 80 and 1/3, last year), I'm taking Glasnow as the current owner of that title.

Heh, post the whole trade Doig

You were wanting to trade Thor at $10 on a contract that expires next year, along with Glasnow, again on a contract that expires next year, and Gallo, who at $15, and again on a contract that expires next year and is likely not a keeper at $15, for Scherzer, Starling Marte, Todd Frazier, and Street. And actually the original portion mentioned "all" the guys' expiring contracts, which also includes Brett Gardner and Nelson Cruz.

And I was saying that these are the type trades that ruin a keeper league - where you are basically turning two teams into 1. We've discussed it on this board before and most agreed that these trades suck.

Well, that changes things quite a bit. My assumption was that Thor and Glasnow could be kept for several years. If they are gone after 2017, there value changes substantially. That's kind of a weird keeper league--can you only keep players for two years? No extensions?

They were both kept LAST year. Thor already extended, so he is a free agent after next year no matter what team he is on.

I drafted Thor in this league originally and traded him off before he broke out.

Doig posted partial information so people would side with him. Gotta give him credit for trying

OK ken, let's get this straight.

I made a preliminary feel out offer to a guy who's out of it, won;t compete because of many unfortunate injuries. I stated this:

This might not be your year.......Duda is the latest casualty.

I know you do't like to exit early, but should you find yourself going in that direction I can compensate you for all your expiring contracts. Thor at $10 is the starting point of the offer.

I should have been more clear--the contracts I saw were Marte, Scherzer, Street and Fraizier.

This guy complains to the Commish (Ken) that's i asked for his whole team for Thor, which started a debate about dump deals and value.

I contend that Thor alone, who can only be kept for ONE more year as he was extended to $10 was worth Scherzer and Street alone. And that Glasnow at $2, who CAN be extended as many years as you'd like was worth Marte and Gallo $15 Frazier--the combo of the 3 from me for the 4 from him.

I posted this here to get other perspective.

Not it at all Ken, you said Thor at $10 for next year wasnt worth Street and Scherzer this year or did I misunderstand

Haha Doig I gotta give you credit for effort - when you said that in email I immediately replied back "You are confused. Read the whole analysis man. We were talking about 4 for 1?"

Not sure how that was confusing.

Analyze the whole trade, it was terrrrrrible

Always spin, you are the spin doctor tonight! No one complained to me about an offer. A couple in the league just laughed at it and told me about it because they found it humorous.

Actually there was no trade offered. It was a preliminary trade opening email about IF he was dumping I'd START with Thor but Ken needed an explanation because the fuckstick involved took this:

To mean I wanted his whole team for Thor.

                    Now were just spinning wheels.

So again--Is Thor at $10 for next year only WORTH Scherzer and Street both whom cannot be kept next year.

The WTF were you on me or was tonight all about pissing me off?

                      Congrats.

Doig is out of control. I'm in lots of leagues and I see plenty of trades. I know a terrible dump trade when I see one. Couldn't care less about a RJEL trade.

No one complained, they laughed at the trade proposal.

The shit about my head exploding can stop now though - you can take that bullshit and shove it back where it came from.

Honestly, I don't find it horrible...you're giving the best pitcher in baseball outside of Kershaw for 2 expiring contracts, as I understand. Scherzer isn't as good as Thor this season, that's just a fact, and Street, well, Street is hurt, again. So that part is fine, IMO.

And Glasnow for Frazier and Marte? Again, sure it benefits Doig this season, but kills him for next year and beyond...and I safe in assuming that Glasnow can be kept for 3 seasons? He should certainly be worth one of those guys, and if GITH adds a sweetener, perhaps both.

Nothing terrible about that deal at all in my mind, it's what a contending team with assets SHOULD do, IMO, if they're in it to win it.
