          One question is how exactly the league weighs the players' actions in handing out penalties. From one perspective, the actual punching, an 8-to-1 ratio in this case is more than fair. Bautista, as eld says, may get his one game overturned. If you look strictly at mens rea, which I am prone to do, the ratio might be different, depending upon your perspective. The best view I have seen of Bautista before the punch is at the 30-second mark of the video posted by eld above.
          I am surprised that Chavez got three games for shooting a spit wad at Fielder, but I guess that is standard.
