Mechanical flaws causing some command issues from what I heard. I agree that the family stuff threw him off his routine.

Yeah, DeGrom's success as exceeding the sum of his parts is so predicated on his routine and the work he puts in on repeating his delivery, it doesn't surprise me that he is off. He isn't the sort of guy who has the natural talent to roll out of bed with a hang over and toss a shut out.

Yes but if you saw his last game, he looked lucky his ERA wasn't 9.50. And K rate and velocity both down.
