Those first two starts of the year were utterly dominant. But since then he's been... well he's pretty much been Vincent Velasquez if not a little worse than what we expected coming into the year. If you sold high (like Doig), you were smart*

*other than throwing in Jackie Bradley
Last 3 starts he has failed to make it to the 6 IP. Actually 4 but he pitched well for 5 IP. ERA has gone up from 2.42 to 3.67. He got moved in a trade in my league which kinda of surprised me since he is $13.

6/8 - Pulled after 2 pitches today (Fowler flew out to the warning track). Threw two fastballs that were only around 87 mph. Some people on Back She Goes board are speculating it is a hip/oblique injury. He was not shaking his arm.

Update- MLB Gameday say it was an injured arm. Back She Goes says Phillies gameday reporter Gregg Murphy reported is it right biceps soreness.

Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

I just traded him in a dump deal Sunday, whew.
If DMT didn't exist we would have to invent it. There has to be a weirdest thing. Once we have the concept weird, there has to be a weirdest thing. And DMT is simply it.

Zach Eflin was scratched from his start today at AAA and had been quite good this year - might be worth a look in deeper leagues.

The owner in my league who recently got him in a dump trade might be a little worried right now.

Put on the 15 day DL today. No stated timetable for his return yet.

I did stumble on this small nugget this afternoon, which, if true, seems to indicate that the Astros speculated that he was on his way to this type of injury. Supposedly the Phillies knew as well and the trade package was altered accordingly.

Velasquez does have a history of injuries, including Tommy John surgery while he was with the Astros. According to Jayson Stark during an interview on 97.5 The Fantatic, an Astros executive immediately texted him when Velasquez was pulled and said “Told you,” referencing his extensive history of arm problems prior to the Ken Giles trade in the offseason.

You can hear that interview at the link below (Astros comments at ~7:20). Stark also claims that Velasquez told the coaching staff that his arm felt off during warmups, but the trainers encouraged him to take the mound anyway (comments at ~6:10).

Seitzer, have you been texting Jayson Stark?
