I wouldn't do anything crazy to get speed this early. If Desmond and Gomez are running this year and Travis comes back soon, you might be middle of the pack - Parra should contribute a bit as well. You can always grab someone like Cesar Hernandez while Travis is out.

I cut bait on Giles and Miller. I traded Kazmir/Gregerson for Salazar about 2 weeks before Greg lost his job.

I'm currently in first. Top 6 teams make the playoffs. The teams are the following # of games back: 6 14 16 17 22

What should I do to maintain my lead?

TEX is likely to trade for a closer and PHI could move Jeanmar.

Kimbrel, Rondon/Kintzler/Clippard, Colome/Papelbon, Casilla/Street/K-Rod are closers/candidates on lower teams. I could also wait and grab the replacements for closers who are dealt, as many set-up men are not rostered.

I think I need upgrades for Heyward and Porcello.

Strasburg is untouchable. Should I be willing to deal Trumbo, Giolito or Moncada? I can see keeping all 4 next year as late round keepers. Trumbo is probably the only one I can consider throwing back or trading but there is value in 30+ HR from your 19th round pick.

I assume that since Giolito has arrived I'd need to be blown away to move him.
