$1.00 Scott Van Slyke - no
$5.00 Jace Peterson - probably yes, given steals in 4x4, but unexciting in 10 team league
    $2.00 Yangervis Solarte - yes
    $10.00 Cristhian Adames - no
$10.00 Cesar Hernandez - tempting. Is he better than Jace though? $5 better?
$10.00 Joc Pederson - yes, have to roll the dice
    $10.00 Jorge Soler - I wouldn't, but others might
    $35.00 Matt Kemp - no
$36.00 Starling Marte - what's inflation like? Lean towards yes
    $5.00 Odubel Herrera - yes
    $8.00 Ender Inciarte - yes
    $10.00 Jorge Lopez - no
    $12.00 Carlos Martinez - yes
    $1.00 Raisel Iglesias - yes
    $10.00 Will Smith - yes
$10.00 JJ Hoover - man... that's not a comfortable price. I'd say no. He's named the closer and Smith is only sharing, but given my choice... I might take Smith
$1.00 Brett Anderson - not even for a buck
    $10.00 Felipe Rivero - no
    $9.00 Kyle Hendricks - yes

      I agree with JC.

I have no hesitation on keeping Marte. I would not keep Soler or Hoover at those prices.

Part of the answer for me would be how many closers are back in the auction. I chose to keep Smith at $10.00 put back Hooper and either rebid or use the money towards a more established closer. I would not have a problem keeping Hoover and throwing Smith back. In a 10 team 4x4 I do not think I would keep both of these particular players.

I might keep him, too, but Hoover over him seems like a no-brainer at this juncture.
Not me. If I thought I could get said corpse at auction for $9 with a new contract I would not keep them. I am guessing that neither Hoover or Smith went for $10 at auction last year. These smell like FAAB pick ups.

As I stated I have no problem keeping Hoover and throwing Smith back. I like Smith for he year better, but he might come cheaper at auction.

Thank you all for the quick responses!

eldiablo505 has pretty much nailed it. This will be the 26th season for our NL-only league, and saves go at a premium in our 4x4 league (at least double figures).
I understand that the fantasy baseball status quo does not condone paying for saves, but I believe that mantra is mostly for 5x5 leagues.

One owner has already offered me any of the following for Hoover:
              $11 Jhonny Peralta
              $4 Alex Guerrero
              $14 Dexter Fowler
              $10 Derek Norris

I am on the fence about keeping Cesar Hernandez and/or Matt Kemp.

In 2015, Kemp produced 23 HR, 100 BI, 12 SB and hit .265.
Yes, he is 31 years old, plays in a pitcher's park and is likely to regress in 2016.

Cesar Hernandez is hitting .390/.468/.585 so far this spring and may earn $10 in SBs alone in 2016.

In case it matters to your decision, I live in Reading, PA where Hernandez played AA-ball. As a 10-year old my daughter got to spend the day at the field with a bunch of other little kids. Cesar Hernandez seemed like really great dude. Very happy, very friendly, very smiley. And after the event was over, most of the guys left immediately, but Hernandez stuck around to have my daughter pitch softballs to him. He was really amused by the size of the gigantic yellow softballs girls use. I'm sure you base your keeper decisions on such things like I do, so I thought it was important that I share this info!

                    @YourPalChrisMal
Your story and (you're in Reading) clinched it for me.
I'm an Atlanta native and the Braves are going to be horrible. I believe worse than your Phillies.
I went with $10 Cesar over $5 Jace.
I like that he's leading off and Odubel will have his back in the lineup.
At the end of the season, I'm confident/optimistic that Cesar produces $5 > Jace.
