For reference, he turns 30 next season. In his career, he has exceeded 300 at bats twice. Career high in homers is 7. Career high in rbi is 43.

I am against PED's and I wonder "does his representation understand there is also drugs of enjoyment testing and they better not give cervelli any because he would easily fail if he is taking what his agents are taking?"

He's a really good framer. B-Ref has him as a 3.1 WAR player last year. He's good at getting on base.

None of this makes him a good fantasy asset, though. Marcel has him at .284 with 9 HR. Steamer is less optimistic at .268 with 6 HR.

If he can get you 500 ABs of a .280+ average that can make him a top-15 catcher easy. If he can hit close to .300 he might crack the top 10.

The Pirates did just sign backup Chris Stewart to a 2-year deal, and they do have a pretty solid AAA catcher in Elias Diaz if they let Cervelli go after this year.
