This year seems to mark a significant shift toward paying more for pitching relative to hitting, it seems. That may, in fact, be appropriate based on team needs and supply/demand, but it should make some of these teams' fan bases nervous given the significant risk involved with pitchers.
No idea why a league average pitcher gets insane money like that. Doesn't even have much upside, either. I guess reliability is worth $75M.
