Kershaw's WAR just for the month of May was higher than any pitcher's WAR for the entire season. It's not necessarily fair to compare anyone to Kershaw, but Hill fails to match up just like everyone else.

Sorry, either I was not clear or you misread. I compared Rich Hill since 2014 to Kershaw's career numbers. WAR wasn't a component of the comparison, but if you want to go that route...

      Kershaw - 1697.2 career IP, 50.7 bWAR, 51.1 fWAR
Hill (since the start of 2014) - 98.1 IP, 4.1 bWAR, 3.2 fWAR

      So on a rate basis,

      Kershaw - .030 bWAR / IP, .030 fWAR / IP
      Hill (since 2014) - 0.042 bWAR / IP, .032 fWAR / IP

So..... was your complaint that Hill has actually been better than Kershaw? I guess I can live with that criticism

(and yes, the comparison here is in jest, obviously Kershaw is MUCH much better, but I do think you missed the original point - if I told you before the season that Rich Hill would match Clayton Kershaw's career averages over any stretch you'd be surprised - at least I hope)
