  • Who's the NL Cy Young?

What a great race, now pretty much down to its final three. This one will come down to the wire. Which horse are you backing?

    Jake Arrieta - 19-6, 1.99, 0.93, 199 IP, 138 H, 46 BB, 204 K
    Zach Grienke - 16-3, 1.68, 0.86, 193 IP, 133 H, 32 BB, 174 K
    Clayton Kershaw - 13-6, 2.15, 0.90, 201 IP, 144 H, 36 BB, 259 K

Kudos to Bumgarner, Cole, Wacha, deGrom, Harvey & Scherzer on great campaigns, but they don't have a shot at winning.

Went with Zach, but Jake could still win it also. I think Kershaw is out unless the other two implode. A great season, again, but after last season voters will see this season as a big drop off.
Considering his only baseball post in the past year was bringing up a 3 year old thread to taunt Hornsby and he's never contributed a dime to our hatpass, perhaps?

K rate gets overlooked. I think Kershaw is having nearly as good a season as Greinke, but I went with Arrieta, who is also in the same tier, and doing it in a hitters park.

I think Kershaw should get it but Arrieta probably will.

Jake Arrieta is arguably having the greatest half-season by a pitcher in baseball history. His 0.80 ERA in the second half is the 3rd lowest for a half in MLB history, and his .192 wOBA is the best ever (Clayton Kershaw's 2nd half wOBA is 4th best for a half ever!).

Kershaw is the greatest regular season pitcher of his generation, and as a fan of his, I really hope the small sample size, and, I would argue fluky, mediocrity in the post season starts to get corrected this postseason. I hate that some people downgrade him based on that and don't consider him clutch--he doesn't strike me as a choker. I don't see any reason why he can't carry his dominance into the postseason. If he and Greinke do that, the Dodgers are going to be really tough to beat.

Indeed it was. I had Arrieta and Kershaw all year. it was a fun ride! Might have both next year too.
