Kipnis: Traditionally AWFUL in 2nd half, worth trading for this year?

I'm in "go for it" mode (2nd place, trying to catch first & hold off third) and the Kipnis owner (who also just lost Glenn Perkins for a bit) likes my 2B keeper Odor, and I also have K.Jepsen....so he might be interested in my Odor & Jepsen for Kipnis. I could use some steals/AVG/OBP/R (where Kipnis is killing Odor) and Kipnis, despite his 2nd half career track record, might have a higher ceiling than Odor rest of season.

Would you do this in my shoes? Thanks!

This late in the season we have to gamble a bit. Given what you have posted I would make the deal.

I wouldn't put too much into Kipnis' pre/post asb splits. For one thing, his pre-splits have been heavily boosted by this season. And those numbers are more relevant for now than any September #s.

That said, Kipnis just came off the DL, and hasn't had the big SB numbers. And OBP is very difficult to move this late in the season (unless this is a H2H league). And Texas has more 6 home games than road after this week.
So while I do think Kipnis has a higher ceiling, I'd hold pat if Odor has some keeper value.

Thanks all...yeah, I've pulled back on going for Kipnis/potential steals, and am focusing on dealing him for Miggy Cabrera to a dumping team. We keep three -- no $ value, you just get them for two years in whatever round they were drafted in, provided they were taken after the 10th round or were waiver adds -- and two definite keepers are Correa (24th round) and AJ Pollock (12th), so losing Odor won't kill me in keepers, I have a couple other decent options.
