  • Fantasy baseball rookie needs some advice please...

12 TEAm 5X5 ROTO LEAGUE. We play for Quality Starts and not Wins.

All my pitchers have ONE start next week. Am I smarter to just leave my pitching lineup the way it is, or drop a couple guys and pick up a couple pitchers on the waiver wire who have TWO starts?

Below is my pitching lineup and below that are some pitchers on my waiver wire that have two starts next week. Who do I drop if anyone, and who do I grab off the wire, if anyone?

    Here's my pitching lineup

    Arrieta

    Buehrle

    Gerrit Cole

    Estrada/Cashner/Hughes (DEPENDING ON THE WEEK)

    Liriano

    Danny Salazar

    Hector Santiago

    Santiago Cassilla

    Koji Uehara

    ------------
    RESERVES

    Axford

    Motte (Cubs closer?)

    Soriano (Cubs closer?)

Vizcaino (will Jim Johnson be traded?)

If your in a roto league that has an innings limit then you really do worry about 2 starts unless pitchers get hurt and miss starts.

Next none of those guys are worth picking up. I would stand pat for this next week.
Bob- I'm not exactly sure it would ROCK as you say it Byron.. it may be cool, by typical text book descriptions. Your opinion of this is shallow and poorly constructed, but allow me to re-craft your initial thought into something tangable.

I agree with piney, the potential for blowing up is greater than any benefit they may give you. Stick with the guys you have...

I'm not a huge Miley fan, but I'd take a shot at those two starts next week. I'd cut Vizcaino.
I'm just here for the baseball.

Yeah, I'd roll the dice on those 2 Miley starts. Especially if you need QS and not wins. Dropping Vizcaino is fine.

I wouldn't cut Vizcaino...cheap closers are really nice... And he's got as good a chance as anyone in that Braves bullpen, I really doubt that JJ will be there in a week.
