Aramis Ramirez to the Pirates

....exactly 12 years to the day the Pirates traded him away!

Pirates acquired 3B Aramis Ramirez and cash considerations from the Brewers for RHP Yhonathan Barrios.
And just like that, Ramirez is back where it all started. With both Josh Harrison and Jordy Mercer sidelined, the Pirates were in need of some infield depth and Ramirez has been swinging the bat better of late, though he has an underwhelming .247/.295/.430 batting line on the year. Still, he now has a chance to go out a winner with the team who signed him.

Recognize them? Heck a bunch of them were on my Fantasy NL only 4x4 team.

Ooh, Bobby Hill, I remember him. I took him in my minor league draft in I think 2001, thought he was going to be a fantasy star with the Cubs

When he was announced as the major piece in the original Aramis deal I just had to laugh. A lot of scouts pegged him as a utility player but he still had some prospect buzz even at the time of the trade. Didn't work out so well for the Pirates...

The way the Pirates hyped Bobby Hill at the time of that trade, i thought they were getting the white Ichiro to play second base. His major league career lasted only two more seasons.
