  • Time to acknowledge J.D. Martinez?

The guy doesn't get much respect, but he just keeps hitting. With another HR tonight he has 27 on the year already, combined with solid BA and plenty of Runs/RBI. Yet nobody seems to trust him. How much more does he need to do to prove himself?

Nothing, IMO. The Astros have done pretty much everything right except JDM.
I'm just here for the baseball.

That's what I'm trying to say. He has been fantastic but doesn't get the credit. What does he need to do before people finally give him the credit he deserves?

Well, it'd be nice if Detroit didn't suck this year. Add in that he has no appearances of liking the limelight at all and doesn't self-promote, combined with a young player and a guy who was so bad about a year and a half ago that the Astros outright released him, and I can see where skepticism creeps in.

Questioning him before the season started was pretty commonplace

Questioning him after he had a bit of a slump in May was understandable

But anyone still questioning him after a year+ of dominance is just being stubborn

I don't follow that Junior Circuit, but fwiw HQ buys what he's selling to hold up rest of season. That's unusual for flash in pans...
