  • Is Jake Arrieta going to pitch Sunday before the all-star game?

It would be his turn but it would make him ineligible for the ASG.

His week is either vs STL, or vs STL and vs CHW, so it makes a big difference.

Can't find anything definitive. Tristan Cockroft thinks he's pitching.

It all depends on who gets the call to start on Saturday. If Lester starts that game, then Arrieta would likely get the call on Sunday. If David Ross needs an extra day or two to recover from his concussion, I can see Maddon letting Clayton Richard pitch Saturday and let Lester pitch Sunday with his normal catcher. We might not know the situation until Thursday. I doubt that Maddon would specifically rest Arrieta to allow him to pitch in the ASG as the Cubs are hip deep in the playoff chase.

      Thanks. I'm rolling the dice.

Arrieta didn't make the AS team, so there you go.
In the best of times, our days are numbered, anyway. And it would be a crime against Nature for any generation to take the world crisis so solemnly that it put off enjoying those things for which we were presumably designed in the first place, and which the gravest statesmen and the hoarsest politicians hope to make available to all men in the end: I mean the opportunity to do good work, to fall in love, to enjoy friends, to sit under trees, to read, to hit a ball and bounce the baby.
