  • 2K15: Miguel Sano

Just heard from a well-placed source that Miguel Sano will be getting the call up to the Twins.

Sano started extremely slow, hit less than .160 during April while knocking off the rust from missing the whole season last year with TJ surgery. But he's hit over .300 both May and June, with plenty of power and lot's of walks. He's replacing Vargas, BTW, who I think may have worn out his welcome for a while...let's hope for the Twins sake they don't do a repeat of the David Ortiz nonsense.

I'd expect Sano to stay, unless he really sucks badly...look for a low average and medium power to begin with. But I think that the youth movement is here to stay.

Last night, a guy in my 12-team mixed traded Springer for Sano. We all thought it was kinda dumb in a redraft but then Springer goes and breaks his wrist 4 hours later. Crazy. Now the grapes are sour over this.

You would think so although he'll probably get more days off now

At this point Sano is going to play more DH than 3rd base...I'd guess that they also look at both guys in the OF in the remaining months to see where the option are come 2016. Sano belongs at 1st at this point, but it's clogged up by a .270 hitting, no power guy who's signed forever.

              Fun Sano fact!

The single came off Miguel Sano's bat at 113 mph, per Statcast data. For comparison, Hunter's HR was 103 mph and Hicks' HR was 104 mph.
