Got the need for speed: do I make this deal?

6x6 mixed keeper (OBP the extra offensive category w/ AVG, R, RBI, HR, SB). I'm battling to finish in the $ right now but this league is a bit different: we have $ prizes for first half of season AND second half of season...i.e. top 1-2-3 finishers first half win $; top 1-2-3 second half win $; and then top 1-2-3 combined for both halves win $.

Right now, I'm .5 pts out of 3rd place, battling with four other teams for that 3rd place prize money....and we're all within 1.5 points of one another. I could really make some hay in AVG, SBs & Runs if I make this deal, but would lose a few HRs and drop a bit in OBP.

I give: Springer & Cano
I get: B.Hamilton & J.Reyes

Springer is the only eligible keeper of the bunch (14th round next year; we keep 3 each year), but I might not necessarily keep him since I have C.Correa (24th rd), Brantley (23rd rd), and AJ Pollock (22nd rd)...so losing Springer wouldn't KILL me, while he needs to get a good keeper. And again, I'm in "go for it" mode...

I'd do it. You can't improve much more in SB right now than by acquiring those two.

He came back with his Hamilton and Reyes for my Correa, Springer, Cano. Naturally I don't like including Correa...but he has Josh Harrison, so could counter with...

His: Hamilton, Reyes, Harrison, Street

But he clearly gets the two only good keepers here, while I try to win now...and hell, even Harrison, up and down as he's been, has topped Cano so far. And I really do think Cano is done for this year, M's are bad, he looks lost, zero power, OBP is atrocious (.275!)...

I'd only give up Springer and Correa if if puts you over the top. Springer is running which negates the SB gain a bit. You would be giving up two absolute studs.

I'd definitely do Correa instead of Springer if it got the deal done. You could counter with that.

No, you keep Correa, he may be better than Reyes as soon as Reyes suffers his next injury. Giving up Springer AND Correa is simply too much in a keeper.

No, no Correa...period. He's one of those very special players that only come around so often. And he plays SS...do not give him up.

I've already told the guy no Correa AND Springer. I agree on Correa's basically being the next Tulo, the comparison he often gets. But I've also been burned on some Jurickson Profars in the past, so I always lean toward trading prospects, even in a keeper, for proven performers....but in this case, I'll roll the dice that CC is not Profar.

I'm loaded at closer, so Giles is irrelevant (not to mention not pitching as well this year). But I still think I'll pass on this. I like the idea of having Correa as a 24th round keeper for the next 2.5 seasons.

Anytime anyone says Correa in your presence, just walk away with a disgusted look on your face...since this is the internet, just question their manhood and tell them you're cuddling with Correa as long as he'll have you.
